STEVEDORE DROWNED IN HULL

Henry Simpson Trout, stevedore, in the employ of Messrs Wilson, Sons and Co., residing at 6, Humber terrace, Ripon Street, about five minutes to one this morning was superintending the loading of the S.S. URBINO, lying in the Alexandra Dock, when he fell into the water and was drowned. John Dennis, foreman in the employ of the Hull and Barnsley Railway Company, heard Trout's cries for help, and lowered his light over the edge of the dock. He saw a man's hat floating, but Trout had disappeared. Grappling irons were obtained and a quarter of an hour afterwards the body was recovered by Richard Kautley. Attempts were made to restore animation without success, and upon Dr. Redhead arriving he pronounced life to be extinct.
