Benjamin Richardson was a Captain (prob. a veterinary surgeon), a farmer, shopkeeper, and veterinarian.
He was awarded the Canada General Service Medal (bar is unreadable in our photo showing the medal).
He ( and a great deal of the family) emigrated to New Brunswick, and later moved to Ontario.

The photo I sent you was taken in Seaforth, Ontario. The boys are not twins, despite the name of the jpeg.
The boys do look smart, don't they? Grey suits with black trim were popular in the 50's and 60's, inspired by the Volunteer Rifle units in the UK.
