bullet  Research Notes:

From this we learn that John H WHITE was the local NZ emigration agent at Laceby. He was born 1843 in Ludborough. Several of his Uncle's emigrated to Canada. John WHITE was appointed the local emigration agent in May 1874, and he was able to advertise that he was recruiting for a ship load to go to NZ in the Autumn. At the close of his first meeting he took some 50 names of those wishing to join the party.
Henry TOMLINSON was one who decided to emigrate, and he probably assisted WHITE with the recruitment campaign. TOMLINSON later reported that 50 souls had been enlisted from Laceby, 20 or 30 from Keelby, 20 or 30 from Ulceby, 20 or 30 from Binbrook, and about 100 from the district around Caistor.
