Velta Kunkel, Joseph Miers' daughter, said that either Edith or Mary Nancy had a second marriage. It looks like Edith had the second marriage. In the second marriage, she had a girl, Norma who married Claude Comer. Norma and Claude had two children, George and a girl.
Mary Nan (used Nan) is buried in the cemetry north of Knoxville, Iowa. Lois Peters provided data that Nan is short for Nancy.
In the1880 Federal census for Jasper Township, Adams County, Iowa, Mary was age 20, born in Illinois, keeping house, her father was born in New York and her mother was born in Ohio. Her husband, Arthur Gay was age 28, a farmer, born in Pennsylvania, his father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Delaware. Living in their household, were two of their children, Nellie, age 2 and Charles, age 8 months, both born in Iowa. Also living with them was Arthur's brother, Elmer, age30, single, born in Pennsylvania, and working on the farm.
Jacob Creager had no children of his own or they died young, so on Nov. 17, 1887, his heirs were from his sister's, Lydia Miers, children. Those heirs are all grand-nephews and nieces of Jacob: (reference 1):
