She was married to Henry Landon Cabell, Sr., one of the founders of Branch Cabell Co in Richmond. I have some (not much) information about Mrs. Cabell, some of it contradictory. I think she was born in Madison, Indiana in 1871 and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She lived in Richmond in the 1880s and later, travelled to England, Scotland & Germany before marrying Mr. Cabell in 1897 (Louisville). She had 3 sons (William Wymond, Henry Landon Jr. and Robert Gamble Cabell). She lived at 311 W. Franklin after getting married. Her husband died 6-20-36. In 1939 she travelled to Europe on the Mauretania with a companion, Mabel Brown. I purchased the diary that Mrs. Cabell kept while in Europe and that's what sparked my interest in this family. I would like to know who her parents were, and anything else about her immediate family. She died in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on August 24. On souce says 1954, one says 1965. Her husband is buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, so I guess she is too. The Cabell family history says she was born in Iowa, but I think that's a mistake. Adah married Henry Landon CABELL, son of Dr. Robert Gamble CABELL and Margaret Sophia CASKIE, in 1897. (Henry Landon CABELL was born on 3 Nov 1858 in Richmond, Henrico Co., VA, died on 20 Jun 1936 and was buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA.)
