Paulina Cabell [3450.4.2.2.3] (1763 — 5 Feb 1845) married first Maj. Edmund Read, son of Col. Clement Read. The younger Read, Revolutionary officer, had been married once before. Maj. and Mrs. Read lived at “Union Hill” for several years. She gave birth to a son on 22 September 1783, but the infant died within a few hours. Maj. Edmund Read was a soldier of the Revolution Read passed away December 1802 [9 Oct 1800 / 7 Feb 1803] and Paulina, with no children of her own, adopted Louisa Cabell <862.htm> [862.3.9.1.2], the daughter of her dead sister Elizabeth. Paulina wed second Rev. Nash LeGrand but he died within six years of their marriage. LeGrand was the son of Peter LeGrand III and Lucy Nash of Prince Edward County and had married Margaret Holmes 7 March 1793.
