Nicholas (Jody's 7th Great Grand Father), the 4th son, was baptized at Warminster, Eng­land, May 29, 1667; "died July 30, 1730, aged 64" (from mourning ring); buried at Warminster, August 2, 1730; inventory taken September 11, 1730, of his household chat­tels, valued at £375; will dated July 9, 1730, was proved in the court of the Archdeacon of Sarum, October 26, 1730. He married at Frome-Selwood (it may be in the Cabell chapel of St. Nicholas there) on November 15, 1697, Rachel Hooper, daughter of George Hooper of Frome. She was buried at Warminster, October 27, 1737, and the inventory of her household chattels was taken November 11 following. She died intestate, and her estate was ad­ministered on by her eldest son, William Cabell of Vir­ginia, who was then in England. His father's household chattels were valued at £375, equivalent to about $7,000 in present values, and he owned a place called "Bugley, near Warminster"; a small property called "Little Col­ledge"; certain "houses and lands at Frome," a small free­hold estate at Road in the Parish of North Bradley, near Frome; and other property which has not been located by me; neither have I any idea as to the value of it. He was probably a dissenter from the church of England. The Rev. Charles Herbert Mayo says: "Just at this time (1690-1720) there were some separate pages in the Register for the 'Births and Baptisms of the Children of Dissenters' -- a thing I have never noticed in a Register before -- and here I found the children of Nicholas Cabell."

Nicholas married Rachel HOOPER, daughter of George HOOPER and Unknown, on 15 Nov 1697 in Warminster, Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom. (Rachel HOOPER died on 27 Oct 1737.)
