Margaret Read VENABLE
His wife, Margaret Read Venable, born May 11, 1782, after the death of her husband removed with her children to her father's. After her son Francis reached manhood, she returned with him to Liberty Hall, and spent the most of her remaining days there. "May 31st 1857, Mrs. Margaret R. Cabell of Liberty Hall departed this life. An early, a constant and true friend. She died as she had lived for 40 years of her life, a member of the Presbyterian Church, a true disciple of Christ and with the bright hope of the Christian in her death. She will be interred on June 2nd in the Liberty Hall Burying-ground." (Mayo Cabell.)
