The original source article was a single paragraph.] A Family Re-union The old Rusling homestead, a little west of Simcoe, and now occupied by Mr. John L. Chadwick, was the scene last week of a very pleasant and interesting occasion. It was the anniversary of Mrs. Chadwick's birthday, and also a re-union of the Rusling family. The family consists of five brothers and five sisters, all of who were presence with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Collins, who lives in Saginaw, Mich. Those present in the order of their age were: William Rusling, Cheapside; Thos. Rusling, Vittoria; David Rusling, Calton; Mrs. E. McDermand, Petrolia; Mrs. John Burbridge, Corinth; Mrs. John Long, Wingham; Mrs. J. L. Chadwick, Simcoe; Mr. John Rusling, Bloomsburg. Other invited relatives and friends were: Mrs. W. Rusling, Mrs. Thos. Rusling, Mrs. David Rusling, Mrs. Joseph Rusling, Mrs. John Rusling, Mr. F. McDermand, Mr. J. L. Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs. John Chadwick Jr., Mrs. John Rusling, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Decoe, Mrs. Martha Whitside, Mr. and Mrs. John Marr, Miss Ada Chadwick, Miss Nellie Rusling, Rev. Mr. Dack, Mrs. Dack, and Master Bertie Chadwick. The bountiful dinner provided was enjoyed by all present, the afternoon was spent in pleasant conversation and in feasting on melons, which were grown on the old homestead. Some of the family renewed their youth by visiting the old sandhill and other spots where they played together when children. In the evening all the members of the Rusling family present, together with Mrs. J. Marr, who represented her mother and sat for a photograph which was taken by Mr. Aselstine, of Simcoe. It is many years since this large family had a re-union, and some of them felt that perhaps the happy gathering on Thursday, the 10th of Sept., 1896 would be the last should enjoy on the shores of time. But should it prove the last in time, their many friends join them in the hope of a happy re-union in the better land, "where we never say good-bye."

William married Margaret Ann BACKHOUSE. (Margaret Ann BACKHOUSE was born in 1826 and died in 1871.)
