1851 - he was a farm worker aged 13 years living and working on John Humphrey's farm at Habrough, Lincolnshire.
1861 - he was a farm worker living and working on John Humphrey's 136-acre farm at Habrough Lincolnshire.
1871 - he was a farm worker living at Habrough with his wife Jane Maria, two daughters, Mary Jane and Sarah Ann and a son, James David.
1881 - he was a gardener. The children had increased to five daughtersand a son, with Alice May, Evelina, and Ethel Maud being added to the others.
1891 - he was a gardener with his own business. Only two daughters were still at home, Alice May, and Ethel Maud, but both had one-year-old children who may have been illegitimate as the daughters still kept their maiden names.
1901 - he was a gardener with his own business with his wife Jane Marie and granddaughter Mabel Gertrude ALLENBY at Habrough, Lincolnshire. His brother James ALLENBY was staying with them.
1926 - he died on the 27th April at ?
