  General Notes:

Robert Lincoln Young was a very successful farmer. He had several farms
and co-signed on several others. When the depression came, he lost all.
By working hard, his son, Harold Ewart Young and Harold's wife Sara
retrieved the old homestead. Besides both working hard, Sara also played
the stock market and commodities market and managed the finances. She
did very well in the markets which was part of how the homestead was
retrieved.

When her grandparents died, Margaret Young Rice and her husband Rory Rice
bought her Grandparents Young's farm, all in tact with the pictures on
the wall, the furniture, the records, dishes, etc. Many picures and
records about the Youngs and about Hannah and Edward Johnston and their
children were in this house.

Data about Hannah Fowler Rusling and Edward Campbell Johnston's daughter,
Mary Fowler Johnston who married Robert Young, and Mary and Robert's
descendants was provided by Mary Fowler Johnston Young's great-great
granddaughter, Margaret Laurene Young Rice.
