When their daughter Hortense died, Margaret Young Rice took care of the
arrangements for her elderly cousin who inherited a sizeable fortune from
Hortense. He, the cousin, gave Margaret several momentos which she
cherishes including a button necklace made by Katherine (Kate), in the
1880's and a rag rug which Hortense made.
